31 Jul Landlords urged to do their health and safety homework as the summer holidays get underway
With the summer holidays now underway and many students moving on, the summer months are the perfect time for landlords to get on top of any health and safety issues in their student accommodation before the start of the new autumn term.
To help ensure every landlord gets full marks, leading independent health and safety consultancy, Acorn Safety Services has created a landlord package, designed to take care of any health and safety headaches once and for all.
Acorn’s Legionella and Fire Manager, Adam Midson, said: “It’s a busy time for landlords at the moment with many students moving on, but the summer months do provide a useful opportunity to ensure all accommodation is safe and ready for the new students moving in later this year.
“The packages we provide give an overview of the condition of the property prior to the tenant leaving and a new one coming in and includes any damage to walls, floors and ceilings, the tidiness of the property and the condition of fixtures and fittings including blinds and windows.
“This package of assessments will ensure that any health and safety issues are addressed early, giving time for them to be addressed well in advance of the new term.”
