Staff at Rushden Lakes have been offered free four week trials of e-bikes throughout June as part of a North Northamptonshire Council initiative to enable more locals to have a go at cycling to work.Twenty e-bikes are being loaned to staff working at any of the Rushden Lakes stores, restaurants and other organisations based at the site. Although intended for journeys to work, staff signing up for the scheme can also use the e-bikes in their leisure time too. On Sunday, 14 May, 10 daring doers jumped out of a plane from 13,000 feet and raised over £9,000 for Northamptonshire Health Charity.After months of fundraising and getting sponsored by family, friends and work colleagues, the 10 amazing daredevils took part in the charity’s annual skydive day at Hinton Airfield near Brackley.Collectively, the team of skydivers raised a whopping £9,033 to benefit the local NHS hospitals the charity supports. An incredible £7,693 of this has been raised for the Daisy Suite Appeal to enhance facilities at Northampton General Hospital for parents who lose a baby. Other areas supported by fundraising this year include the Maternity Unit and Medical Outpatients at NGH and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kettering General Hospital (KGH).Josh Bellis and his family took part together because they wanted to raise as much money...
