#MORETHANJUSTNETWORKING – It’s All About The News

We’re ending the week with another update of our new #MoreThanJustNetworking series, we go behind the scenes to keep you up to date with events from our involvement within the County and helping to drive the County forward.

This week, it’s been about the news!

MONDAY

The start to the week was pretty explosive as at was news story after news story coming in and, of course, we were happy to share! We’ve always said that news is an important area when marketing as from an early age we learn to read and we’re delighted to have released some fantastic news from across the County this week.

The news of the Discover Northamptonshire website being launched was the first to be released with a number of exciting places to visit across Northamptonshire all accessible at the clock of a mouse. This was closely followed by the news that the High Street! campaign, led by North Northamptonshire Council, had gone live and, again, we were there to share the news.

But this wasn’t the end, there was more news coming and we shared it.

We also finalised a video that we recorded with Sunny Singh from the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce about the forthcoming Northamptonshire Business Exhibition in September. We enjoy working with the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce and it was our pleasure to produce this video which we released on our You Tube channel.

TUESDAY

Tuesday was another busy day and we were delighted to have a couple of meetings with our members who wanted further ideas and inspiration for their business. Simon spent a good few hours exploring ideas for them to grow and investigate and then we had a new member join us! We’ll be announcing them next week once we’ve sorted out the information and received their logo to add to our Member Directory. It was certainly a great afternoon on Tuesday!

Following the NL Awards at the Chester House Estate the previous week, we were also in touch with the winner of the category that we sponsored, Best Beauty Salon, to offer them some free editorial in the next edition of our NNBN Digital publication which is shaping up to be another great addition. Again, many congratulations to Maison de Beaute in Northampton who were the winners to the category we sponsored.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday was admin day as we caught up on administrative tasks and worked on building numbers for future events. Having sent out our mailshot, it was encouraging to see people booking for our forthcoming events, especially the NNBN Summer Social which is taking place on Monday 7th August at The Chester House Estate. We wanted to do something different and more relaxed and what better way than to organise a BBQ!

We’ve opened the Summer Social up to anyone and everyone who wants to attend and it’s been great seeing bookings from people bringing their friends and family arriving in the e-mail inbox. We can’t wait! Of course, if you wanted to book in, you can always book here!

We ended the day by publishing the article for Maison de Beaute on our website and you can read this here. We’re looking forward to publishing this in our digital publication as well so keep an eye on what’s coming up!

THURSDAY

For a rare occasion, Thursday was a pretty quiet day in NNBN world as both Marie and Simon discussed the next stage of the plans for this year’s NNBN Awards. It was a perfect opportunity to reach out to BBC Radio Northampton as well to discuss the Awards on air and that Simon did! We’re grateful to BBC Radio Northampton for their support as Simon was interviewed live on air by Daisie-Belle Downer and discussed the NNBN Awards in further detail. We can’t wait to announce the Finalists on Tuesday next week!

FRIDAY

The day started with another early start with Simon in the chair of the North Northants Business Forum – a forum which brings local business groups and networks together to engage with the Economic Development team at North Northamptonshire Council. A number of matters were discussed about business challenges, business needs and actions were taken to help local businesses move forward.

After sharing more local news from across the County, both Simon and Marie met with Cllr David Brackenbury, Executive Member for Growth and Regeneration for North Northamptonshire Council to update him of the progress NNBN has made and to discuss a number of other business matters.

We ended the week preparing to finalise the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT NEXT WEEK! The Finalists of this year’s NNBN Awards so watch this space on Tuesday morning!

This is why we’re #morethanjustnetworking
