20 Aug NNBN Parliament Visit Fully Booked
Following the success of the recent visit to the the Palace of Westminster in May, Northamptonshire business owners and visitor attractions are eagerly anticipating another opportunity to meet with new MPs on the latest visit organised for October this year.
In May, twenty-one members of the Northamptonshire-based membership organisation NNBN travelled to London, led by co-founders Simon and Marie Cox for a day of learning and engagement. The group toured the historic Palace of Westminster, observed parliamentary proceedings in action, and engaged in a round table discussion with the three Northamptonshire MPs: Philip Hollobone (Kettering), Labour MP Gen Kitchen (Wellingborough and Rushden), and Andrew Lewer MBE (Northampton South) who were elected at the time of the visit. Since the election, only Labour MP Gen Kitchen remains as an elected Member of Parliament.
Simon Cox, Director of NNBN, expressed his delight at the success of the previous visit stating, “It was an amazing opportunity for our members to take in the history of the building, engage in meaningful discussions with MPs, and witness Parliament in action. We’re thrilled that our members had the chance to raise their questions and this latest trip, which is fully booked, reflects the high level of interest in engaging with political representatives.”
“The event allowed participants to voice their concerns and discuss key issues facing their sectors and now members of NNBN will be able to raise their concerns again in a round table discussion.”
