An ambitious and dedicated worker at Northampton-based Silverstone Leasing has been promoted to team leader, after spending the last two years learning the trade and carving out a career in cars.

Amber Thorpe started as an apprentice in the customer care team at the award-winning firm in 2023, quickly impressing her colleagues with her willingness to learn and excellent communication skills.

Amber went on to win the much-coveted Special Recognition prize at the inaugural NNBN Awards later that year, after being described as “one to watch” in her industry.

Her role has evolved significantly since then, with a stint in the sales team to broaden her experience. Although sales wasn’t the right fit for Amber, it helped her to understand the business better and appreciate where her strengths lie.

Recently she was promoted to Customer Care Team Leader, taking on more responsibility, supporting the team, and helping to ensure customers receive the best possible service.

Amber said: “I feel really proud and grateful to have been promoted. Starting at Silverstone Leasing as an apprentice and working my way up to a team leader role means a lot to me.

“It’s rewarding to know that the hard work, learning, and commitment I’ve put in over the last three years has been recognised, and I’m excited to continue developing in this role.”

Amber added that the nurturing culture at Silverstone Leasing and the support of the whole team has enhanced her journey.

“What I enjoy most about working at Silverstone Leasing is the people,” she said. “The team makes the job genuinely enjoyable, and there’s a really supportive and positive environment. I also love being in customer care, helping customers and solving problems, which is something I find very rewarding. It’s a company that encourages growth and gives opportunities, and that’s a big reason why I’ve enjoyed building my career here.”

Amber’s line manager and Silverstone Leasing customer care manager Michelle Williamson said: “Amber has worked her way up from apprentice, consistently showing commitment, skill, and a strong willingness to learn.  She has become a valued and trusted member of the team, and this progression reflects both her hard work and the positive impact she has every day.”
