Virtual climate change conference to showcase North Northamptonshire sustainability and environmental projects

North Northamptonshire Council’s annual climate change conference will take place this month showcasing projects aimed at improved sustainability and helping the environment.

NNClimate23 will be broadcast live on YouTube on Wednesday, November 22 starting at 9.30am.

The day will focus on three sessions:

  • Farming and Sustainability
  • Towards a New Green Economy
  • Youth and Community

The conference will be virtual, taking place online to reduce the carbon footprint of the event. It will be broadcast live on YouTube for anyone to watch.

This is the third such forum that the council has convened, building on the success of conferences over the past two years.

Cllr Harriet Pentland, the Council’s Executive Member for Climate and the Green Environment, said:

“We’re delighted to announce our third climate change conference and I look forward to hearing all the great work going on in our area.

“Addressing the challenges of a changing climate is essential as we work towards a sustainable future.”

Cllr Jason Smithers, Leader of the Council, said:

“It’s great to see that we have an array of innovative green projects taking place in North Northamptonshire as has been demonstrated at our conferences over the past two years.

“It’s important to keep up this momentum to not only look after our planet but ensure prosperity in future generations.”
